The distant eyes and tear stains after bad news. 11×14 Arches 140# hot pressed paper. Painted in the studio with brushes and wet on wet technique. $150
Bonifacio is a French Commune located on the southern tip of the Island of Corsica in the Mediterranean. This is from the east and only shows a small part of the commune. I found the rock and the ocean a fascinating subject. 11×14 Arches 140# cold pressed paper. $150
In 2010 I was in Paris and standing across the street from the Brasserie Du Louvre (one of Paris’ best and most famous restaurants). Across the street musicians were gathering and appeared to be warming up for some event. There was a pile of cases for bass, viola, violin along the curb. One man, in a grey sweater appeared to be in charge and moved from person to person. His hand signals appeared to say, “play for me” as he moved from person to person. They were auditioning for some orchestra, and he was the conductor. I won a second-place ribbon for this painting in my state’s state fair in 2021. I painted it from a photo and my memory using Arches 140# cold pressed paper in the deepest days of the Covid shutdown. Enjoy! $200
Venturing beyond my most comfortable place in painting, which is an effort that “takes you there” and hopefully helps you enjoy the view, here I take you into another world I enjoy. That is the world of books–hence the painting “Volumes.” Arches 140# cold pressed paper. $150
Friday night, September 30, 2022, I was seated in the upper deck at Yankee Stadium in New York. A little on the first base side of the upper deck. I was there to see if Aaron Judge could hit his 62nd regular season home run. I stood up with thousands of others as Judge came to bat for the first time that evening. He struck out, but I caught the swing, the catch by the Baltimore catcher and the tense anticipation shown by the umpire on my Samsung cell phone camera held high over my head. Here is the painting from that picture–Not Tonight–of the swing for his strike out in the first inning. Judge hit that record breaking home run the following Tuesday in Texas. 11×14 Arches 140# cold pressed paper. $175
Before Covid I was on a river cruise of the Danube from Budapest, Hungary to Nuremberg, Germany. One morning of the cruise I woke before dawn and watched as we raced the sun into the docking facility at Regensberg, Germany. I snapped a picture and painted this from that record and my memory. 15×22 Bockingford White 140# cold pressed paper; painted with brushes. $245
All paintings have a positional field of view. This painting is most striking to the eye at fifteen feet or more in bright light. It will then draw the viewer in to a point up close when the Sentinels disappear in detail and the park and the sounds of children echo in the wind. 15×22 Bockingford White 140# cold pressed paper; painted with brushes. $245
I painted this following a visit near dusk to the Capulin Volcano National Monument near Raton, New Mexico. It’s hard to capture the color and motion of the tall grass. Like my bear? 15×22 on Bockingford 140# cold pressed white paper. $240
From a trip to Ireland. A beautiful sand beach in the middle of May. People were just beginning to come out to the beaches. Who’s sharing secrets? 15×22 Bockingford 140# cold pressed paper. $240
After painting “Headed Home” this was done as a follow up. 8×10 on very light smooth watercolor paper. $80
In Venice, Italy a corner restaurant outside a hotel. The scene was after dark, but if you’ve ever been there, it is like the sun never sets. 10×14 Arches 140# rough paper. $160
From an overlook on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Near dusk on a cold day. As the sun faded, the cold marched onward in the pink above the horizon. 11×14 Arches rough 140# paper. $155
Looking north along the road to the ski basin at Snowbird, Utah. A stand of yellow Aspen waved in the wind and looked down upon the clearing to the right. 11×14 Arches rough 140# paper. $165
Inspired by a master this imagined scene comes from Venice also. The gondoliers used to get to hotel doors early. Today they rely on cellphones. This is a throwback to the ages when they were always there–at the ready. 11×14 Arches rough paper. $160
Rainbow Harbor at Long Beach, California is a wonderful place. Pelicans seem to own it, whereas harbor seals have staked out other places. The anchored giant in the background is the Queen Mary. Open for tours, weddings and weekends She is the Lady in waiting there. 11×14 Arches rough 140# paper. $160
This painting won a First-Place blue ribbon in the art competition at the 2022 New Mexico State Fair. It is an impressionistic abstract. Describing the entry, I wrote: “Separated by a border wall the two towns of Nogales are very much alike. The same cloud of social and economic issues hovers over them. The burning passion for change is present in both. The acrylic cloth panels represent the expectations of immigrants who wish to enter into the United States all along the border. Safety; personal freedom; work and economic opportunity; education; medical care. Strangely, those same panels stand as defenses against them on the American side.” The Mexican side is to the right side of the border fencing, the American side to the left. Flags of both countries are visible in the painting.
22×30 It is a full sheet of Bockingford watercolor paper. Framed it measures 23.5×34 and is watercolor with adhered, acrylic stained cloth panels. $375

This piece is a photograph of James Taylor I took from 150 yards away during a concert last summer. I used my Samsung cellphone camera and tapped the button during his song. It was the only photograph I took at the concert. He was singing Copper Line and had just told the audience how much he liked the State of New Mexico. The stage had a string of chili pepper lights which moved up and down during the concert. Imagine my shock when I looked at the photo the next morning. 11×14 framed. $150
